In the mid 1980's, Titan introduced a lightweight, portable, airless paint sprayer to the professional painter. It was capable of spraying various coatings, stains and latex. The Titan 440 was a tremendous success and quickly became the top seller and favorite choice of painting contractors.
Shortly after the 440 was introduced to the rental trade. Prior to this innovation, the industry had been struggling with large, complex diaphragm sprayers which required a great deal of power and technical ability to service. In addition, Titan established a Rental Division. The best industry representatives were hired and trained to work exclusively with the Rental Industry.
Through focus groups and interviews, it was decided that a product had to be designed specifically to meet the many challenges faced by the equipment rental fleets.
